Terms of Service
By using Anglore, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
1. Who this is
Anglore is operated by Wreck Raiders — full registered legal name to be confirmed (“we”, “us”). Contact: a contact email hasn’t been added yet.
2. Age requirement
Anglore’s core planning and catch-logging tools have no age requirement. Social features specifically — creating or joining a group, or sharing a catch beyond “Private” — require you to confirm you’re 18 or older via a self-declared checkbox, not verified identity. Don’t use these features if you’re under 18, and don’t misrepresent your age.
3. What Anglore is — and isn’t
Anglore is not a legal or navigational authority. This is the single most important thing in these terms, and it applies throughout the app:
- Fish retention/legality. Anglore never tells you a fish is legal to keep based on its own logic or an AI photo suggestion. Size limits, seasons, and protected-species rules change and vary by location — check current, authoritative sources (e.g. the MMO in England, or the relevant devolved body) before deciding what to keep.
- Species identification. Any AI-suggested species ID is a starting point, not a confirmed identification — you’re always the one who confirms it, and it’s on you to be sure before making any decision based on it, especially a keep/release one.
- Marine conditions and weather. Forecasts, sea state, and any calculated water depth shown in the app are predictive and approximate — never a substitute for checking conditions in person, and never to be used for actual navigation. Accuracy drops the further ahead you look. If what you see in front of you doesn’t match what the app says, trust what you see.
- Safety assessments. Where the app flags a trip as unsuitable (e.g. thunder risk, dangerous swell for the venue), take that seriously — but a “suitable” rating is not a guarantee of safety. You’re responsible for your own judgment about whether to fish, and where.
- Third parties named or described in the app — charter boats, skippers, tackle shops, guides, and similar businesses. Anglore doesn’t operate, inspect, license, insure, or vet any of them. Booking a charter, buying gear, or arranging a guided trip is a direct arrangement between you and that business — confirm their licensing, insurance, safety equipment, and cancellation terms yourself before you commit to anything.
Fishing, especially from rocks, in surf, or afloat, carries real risk of injury or death. Use Anglore’s guidance as one input, not a replacement for your own judgement, training, and local knowledge.
4. Your account
You need a valid email address to create an account; we use passwordless sign-in (a link or a one-time code), so there’s no password to manage or lose. Keep access to your own email secure — anyone with access to it can sign in as you. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
5. Content you submit
You keep ownership of what you submit (catch photos, notes, saved marks, etc.). By submitting a photo or note that you choose to share beyond “Private” (a friends group or public), you give us permission to display it to the audience your own sharing setting selects, for as long as that sharing setting remains active or until you delete it.
Don’t submit anything that: isn’t actually yours to share; is illegal, harassing, or abusive; or misrepresents a catch (e.g. claiming a species, size, or location that isn’t accurate) — this matters especially for competition entries (see below).
6. Groups and sharing
Sharing a catch is always your own explicit choice, made per catch — never automatic just because you’re in a group or signed in. If you’re a group owner or moderator, you’re responsible for how you use that role (removing members, moderating shared content) within that group.
7. Competitions
- Rejected or still-pending entries never count toward the leaderboard.
- A competition’s rules are locked once it opens (dates, eligible species, scoring, evidence requirements, tie-breaks) — they won’t change retroactively against entries already submitted.
- Editing a catch linked to a verified entry sends that entry back to pending review — don’t edit a verified catch expecting the leaderboard to update silently.
- Submitting evidence you know to be false or misleading may get your entry rejected and, for repeated cases, your account restricted.
8. AI species identification
If you turn this feature on, you’re responsible for the API key you provide and any usage charges your chosen provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) bills you for that key — Anglore doesn’t cover, reimburse, or set limits on that spend. Your use of that provider’s API is also governed by that provider’s own terms, separately from these. Your key never leaves your own device except in a direct request to that provider — see the Privacy Policy for how this actually works.
9. Acceptable use
Don’t use Anglore to: break the law; harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone; scrape or bulk-extract data from the app; attempt to bypass account, group, or competition security; or use another person’s account without permission.
10. Account suspension
We can suspend or remove an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms — most likely for abusive behaviour, fraudulent competition entries, or genuine safety/legal misuse of the app’s content. We’ll make a reasonable effort to explain why, except where doing so would itself be unsafe or inappropriate (e.g. active harassment).
11. No warranty, limitation of liability
Anglore is provided “as is.” Gear, safety, and species-ID guidance is generated from available data and, in the AI-ID case, third-party models — it can be wrong. To the fullest extent the law allows, we’re not liable for losses arising from decisions made using the app, including but not limited to fishing trip decisions, retention/legal decisions, or purchases made from linked retailers. Not yet reviewed by a solicitor — a reasonable starting point, not a substitute for real legal review.
12. Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that meaningfully affects you, we’ll make a reasonable effort to let you know before it takes effect — decide how: email, an in-app banner, or both.
13. Governing law
Likely England & Wales, given the app’s UK-only audience — not yet formally confirmed.
This is a first draft written by an AI assistant around what Anglore actually does — not professionally reviewed legal advice, particularly sections 3 and 11. See Privacy Policy.
